ABOUT ARTERIAL NETWORK
ARTERIAL NETWORK is a dynamic network of individuals, organizations, donors, companies and institutions engaged in the African creative and cultural sector. With chapters in 40 countries, Arterial Network is engaged in building sustainable networks, information dissemination, training, policy formulation, research and African-centred theory, all geared towards growing and strengthening the cultural and creative sectors in Africa. The Committee for Relevant Art (CORA), formally registered as CORA Art & Culture Foundation, is a group of artistes, art enthusiasts, art promoters and art writers committed to the development of the Arts of Nigeria and their enabling environment. Its projects include the quarterly ART STAMPEDE, the annual LAGOS BOOK & ART FESTIVAL (LABAF), the quarterly LAGOS THE CITY ARTS GUIDE, and the annual Lagos Open Air CINEMA CARNIVAL. It also collaborates with other artistes, activists and enthusiasts to organise the annual LAGOS COMICS CARNIVAL and the GREAT HIGHLIFE (Revival) PARTY (ELDERS’ FORUM).
VISION: To make art and culture the prime destination for investment in Nigeria and Africa by 2018.
MISSION: To create an enabling environment for the flourishing of the Contemporary Arts of Nigeria and the Continent.
ABOUT CORA/ARTERIAL NETWORK NIGERIA
Following the resolution of members at the General Meeting of Arterial Network Nigeria in July 2013, a memorandum of understanding was signed to formalise the implementation of Arterial Network projects and activities in Nigeria under the auspices of CORA Art and Cultural Foundation effective from June 2014. As a result, Arterial Network structure in Nigeria has since been formally addressed as “CORA/Arterial Network Nigeria”.
